Background Information On DVLNI
The Agency is managed by a Directorate, headed by the Chief Executive, supported by a Deputy Chief Executive and five senior managers – the Directors of Development, Corporate Services, Driver Licensing and Road Transport Licensing, Finance and Vehicle Registration and Licensing.
Our headquarters are in County Hall, Coleraine but we also operate a taxi licensing and vehicle operator licensing office in Belfast and a network of local vehicle licensing (motor tax) offices in Armagh, Ballymena, Belfast, Coleraine, Downpatrick, Enniskillen, Londonderry and Omagh.
Following the transfer in October 2000, of taxi licensing, and vehicle operator licensing responsibilities from the Department to the Agency we now employ some 385 full time staff most of whom are located at our headquarters in Coleraine.
The Agency produces a three-year Corporate Plan, which outlines its strategic aims and objectives. A Business Plan for the first of those years is contained in pages 00 to 00 and sets out in detail the specific key performance targets set by the Minister, the Agency's work programme, priorities and other targets for the coming year and key assumptions about volumes and resources.
Each year (usually in July) the Agency publishes an Annual Report and Accounts setting out the work completed in the previous financial year (ending on 31 March) and giving details of the Agency's financial affairs.
The Corporate Plan, Business Plan and Annual Report and Accounts together give a wide range of facts, figures and other information about the work of the Agency. The most up to date versions of these documents are available on this website.
