DVA Licensing Change Of Name And/Or Address

If you have a Northern Ireland Driving Licence or have a vehicle registered in your name, you are legally required to notify DVA if you change your name and/or address. You may need to refer to your Drivers Licence or your vehicle Registration Certificate V5C(NI).

Vehicle Registration

In order to fully complete the change you must follow these instructions:

Return your Registration Certificate V5C(NI) to: DVA, Record Amendment Section, County Hall, Coleraine, BT51 3TA and a new one wil be sent to you within 6 weeks. You will need to provide the following information:

  • Title (Mr, Mrs, etc)
  • First names
  • Surname
  • Vehicle Registration Number
  • Make (e.g. Ford)
  • Model (e.g. Focus)
  • Current Mileage (optional)
  • Old Address
  • Old Postcode
  • New Address
  • New Postcode
  • E-mail Address
  • Date of moving

Please Note: If anyone else in your household has a vehicle registered in their name, they must also notify DVA with their new details.
