Requirements for A Licence
To obtain your Licence you need to satisfy the Department that:
- you and all partners, directors and any transport manager are of good repute
- you have enough resources to set up and properly run your road haulage business
- you, or a partner in your business who is responsible for the transport operations, are professionally competent, or that you have in your employment a professionally competent transport manager who has continuous and effective responsibility for managing the transport operations of your business.
You will also need to satisfy the Department that you have an operating centre suitable for your vehicles, bearing in mind such things as size, location and means of access. Overnight parking for the vehicles must also be available so that they are not left on the public roads or in public car parks.
