Concessions For A Disabled Person
Exemption from vehicle excise duty may be granted for a vehicle used by or for the purpose of a disabled person, if they:
- receive Disability Living Allowance; the higher rate of the mobility component; or
- receive War Pensioners Mobility Supplement; or
- have an invalid carriage which does not exceed 508 kgs in weight unladen
- were in receipt of Attendance Allowance before 13th October 1993 and have a valid MHS330 exemption certificate.

Disabled Passenger Scheme (DPS)
Any charitable organisation or anyone carrying physically/ mentally handicapped persons can apply for Disabled passenger Tax class. (To qualify for DPS concession, appropriate evidence must be produced). For further advice contact Vehicle Licensing Central Office (DVLNI).
