Adding A Test Pass - 1st Provisional Licence issued before 01.04.99
Once you have passed your driving test (theory and practical) you should exchange your test pass certificate for a new licence as soon as possible, but not later than 2 years from the date of test pass.
If you hold a NI paper provisional driving licence you must complete photocard application form DL1 (available from the the Driver & Vehicle Testing Agency or directly from DVLNI by calling 0845 402 4000.You must also enclose your test pass certificate, your paper licence, photographic counterpart, original documentation confirming your identity (full list of acceptable identity documents) and a passport sized colour photograph taken against a plain light background (acceptable photograph criteria - digital photographs are not acceptable). Rules for claiming your test pass from 1st April 1991
You have 2 years only from the date of your test to apply for a full licence/add new entitlement.
If you leave it longer than this you will need to take another test (theory and practical).
