When You Have Passed Your Driving Test

Once you have passed your driving test (theory and practical) you should exchange your test pass certificate for a full licence as soon as possible.

You can apply for your first full licence by forwarding your test pass certificate together with your provisional licence and fee to

If you already hold a full licence and have passed an additional driving test, please send your test pass certificate together with your full licence and fee to

BT51 3TB.

Please note: If you do not already hold a photocard driving licence you will need to also complete the DL1S form (available from any DVTA office or directly from DVLNI by calling 0845 402 4000 You must also enclose original documentation confirming your identity (Acceptable identity documents).

Important Note:

Rules for claiming your test pass from 1st April 1991

You have 2 years only from the date of your test to apply for a full licence/add new entitlement.

If you leave it longer than this you will need to take another test (theory and practical).
