When You Have Sent The Form
It usually takes 10 working days (does not count Saturday, Sundays & public holidays) from the date of receipt of your form at DVLNI until your licence is issued. Due to the fact that we have entered a peak period for renewal of applications it may take up to 20 working days provided there are no health or other details to be considered.

This line is on an answering service 24 hrs per day. Your call will be returned whenever an operator becomes available between the hours of 9.00 am and 5.00 pm - Monday to Friday

When contacting the Customer Enquiry Unit, you will need to provide your driver number or your full name, address and date of birth.
When you telephone you will be answered by our interactive voice system. However during office hours, callers will also be given the option of speaking to an operator. Please note some calls are monitored for quality purposes. If you ring on someone else's behalf we will not release information from a driver's record without the licence holder's permission.
Please Note: Because we have entered a peak renewal period we are currently experiencing higher volumes of calls than normal.
