Change of Vehicle Specification(Colour/Engine)
Please complete Section 7 of the Registration Certificate V5C(NI) with the relevant details and the date of change. Sign and date the declaration at Section 8 and return the Certificate to DVLNI.

Documentary evidence will now be required for vehicles in PLG and Exempt tax classes (classes which may be licensed PLG in the future - e.g, disabled, disabled passenger) if an engine is reducing from above 1549cc to 1549cc or below.
Please note that documentary evidence will not be required in the following circumstances-
- Engine size is increasing from 1549cc or below to above 1549cc
- Engine size reducing, but not crossing the line from above 1549cc to 1549cc or below
- Engine size is already 1549cc
Acceptable evidence can take the form of:
- Receipt of purchase from the replacement/ reconditioned engine containing the engine number and size
- Written confirmation from the manufacturer containing the engine number and size
- An inspection report from an organisation such as AA or RAC
- An inspection report provided for insurance purposes
- Written confirmation from a garage, on headed notepaper, of the engine number and size
