The de-clamping fee is £80 and you will be asked to produce a valid tax disc for the vehicle before it will be released to you.
If it is not possible to produce a tax disc for the vehicle (for instance, if an MOT certificate is required or if the Local Vehicle Licensing Office is not open), a refundable 'surety' payment will be accepted and the vehicle released.
If a valid tax disc for the vehicle is not produced within 14 days the surety will be forfeited and prosecution action taken. Surety payment is £120 for cars, motorcycles and other vehicles that attract a low rate of excise duty and up to £600 for all other vehicles.
