Personal Import - Acceptable Documentation
In order to prove that a vehicle is a Personal Import the keeper must provide evidence that he or she has:
- Lived outside the United Kingdom for at least 12 months, for example:
- utility bill (electricity, telephone, gas);
- rent book;
- Bank or Building Society statement
- Notification of tax coding
- C&E 386 or C&E 388 (for Non-EU Countries).
And
- Been in possession of their vehicle outside the United Kingdom for at least six months. To prove 6 months’ possession one or more of the following must be shown:
- Vehicle registration document
- Vehicle licensing reminder
- Other documents showing vehicle particulars may be submitted for consideration.
