The Rates shown apply to tax discs issued from 13th March 2008.

To find out what category a vehicle belongs to check the Registration Certificate V5C(NI) for that vehicle.

NOTES

1. Goods Vehicles are taxed according to their “Revenue Weight”. This is the confirmed maximum weight (i.e. gross weight or gross train weight) for vehicles subject to plating and testing. For non-testable vehicles this will be the maximum weight at which a vehicle can lawfully operate under construction and use limits (i.e. the design weight).

3. Construction and Use Regulations and the Road Vehicle (Authorised Weight) Regulations must be met. The only exception is where a Section 44 Order is made by the Secretary of State, which gives a general or specific dispensation from construction and use requirements.
